BRINGING NEW LIGHT TO YOUR NIGHT

Headlight Restoration

Car makers no longer use glass to make headlights. Car designers needed a more malleable material that was easier to mold into different shapes and designs. That material, used for the past twenty years, is a lightweight poly-carbonate plastic.

That plastic began to present a new challenge for car care appearance specialists to solve. After a couple of years, it tends to dry out both from the inner heat from the headlight bulbs and from the power of the sun’s ultraviolet rays on the outside that essentially causes oxidation, similar to your car’s paint.

When this happens, headlights develop tiny micro-cracks that obscure their clarity, and yellowish or hazy discolorations that cause those cloudy headlight lenses to become dull. The result is of course a safety hazard due to decreased illumination.

Auto Detailing HQ is certified by Detailing Success in the headlight restoration process to repair the damaged and oxidized headlights. Using a professional-grade headlight restoration system, we can remove fine scratches and polish the lenses back into clarity, increasing headlight brightness by three to four times their damaged state. Our mobile headlight restoration service takes up to an hour, improving visibility by 140 percent without the cost of replacement!

Our Headlight Restoration Process

We perform a multi-stage correction that involves sanding to clean oxidized headlights. This process removes all oxidation, corrosion, and dead plastic on the exterior of the headlight lens. Unlike the do-it-yourself cheap headlight restoration kits, we remove and prep the surface prior to protecting the lens. After we remove oxidation from headlights, we coat them with a protective coating that bonds to the plastic to bring out the clarity in the lens. It also protects them from corrosion, oxidation, and UV damage.

How Long Does Headlight Restoration Last?

When you hire our mobile headlight restoration service, we warranty them for 1 year. If there are every any problems with your lenses within that time frame, we will come back out to fix them free of charge.

How Much is Headlight Restoration?

Our headlight restoration services start a $100 for a pair of headlights. The size of the lens will depend on how much additional it will cost. Headlight lens restoration is a cheap alternative to purchasing a brand new set of OEM headlights. A lens can retail for as much as $700-$1000!
